Real Madrid went 2-0 up in the EuroLeague playoff against Baskonia with wins in both opening games at the WiZink Center. Chus Mateo's boys picked up their second victory on Thursday with their best display in a title knockout game since the year 2000. They set their points record (101) and best PIR (134), as well as being just one assist away from their top tally (24).

The madridistas' top score in a playoff to date was 98 points, in last season's Game 5 with Partizan. Yesterday, the team posted three more. They hit 23 points in each of the first two quarters, before a 28 in the third and 27 in the last. They had six players on 10 points or more (Campazzo, 24; Yabusele, 16; Llull, 13; DeckPoirier and Tavares, 10), giving 24 assists and sinking 14 triples (48.3%). Both these figures are their second best numbers in a playoff match.

Top PIR
Madrid ended with a PIR of 134, eclipsing the 126 they managed against Maccabi in Game 2, two seasons ago. That's 20 more than their best figures, which also came against the Israeli outfit that same year, the 114 from Game 3 which closed out the series.

Individual performances
The match was a sublime team display, with six players in double digits for PIR, headed by Campazzo. The Argentine point guard recorded the third highest rating for a madridista in a playoff match (33), one behind Rudy (34 in 2013/14) and eight off Tavares' record number (41 in 22/23). His 24 points also sees him draw level with Garuba (2020/21) and Deck (2022/23) as the third top point scorer. Meanwhile, Poirier's defensive exhibition, with 4 blocks, was enough to equal the record held by Tomic (2009/10).
