Signus, the collective system for the management of used tyres, has extended its collaboration with the Real Madrid Foundation for the fifth consecutive year. Julio González Ronco, managing director of the Foundation, welcomed Gabriel Leal, general director of Signus, to the Real Madrid City auditorium to sign the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the two organisations.

The agreement with this organisation will help the sustainability of the Real Madrid Foundation's wheelchair basketball social sports school in Getafe, which takes place at CEIP Jorge Guillén and caters for a dozen children with physical and mental disabilities aged between 8 and 20 years old. Signus has demonstrated a strong commitment to this programme making visits each season to the children, along with Felipe Reyes, Real Madrid's ambassador, who came along to the event.

The Real Madrid legend discussed how important the collaboration is: ‘Society's awareness of recycling and reuse of materials across the board is crucial, and Signus' focus on social and educational sport as a vehicle to get this message across is very promising'. The general manager of Signus also expressed his delight that the agreement has been renewed: 'We're working together to promote the values of sustainability through basketball. For us, it is important to convey to the students of this school the importance of waste management, as in our specific case tyres’.

Environmental contribution
Five seasons ago, the collective system for managing used tyres, Signus, joined other organisations that, working in the field of the circular economy, cooperate with the Real Madrid Foundation's projects aimed at education in values through sport, such as the football and basketball social sports schools, believing that education in respect for the environment is key to building a better world.
